Beginners photography course in Cambridge – a chilly day!
Today I had the pleasure of running one of our popular beginners photography courses in Cambridge. When I woke up this morning and saw the snow falling I fully expected my phone to ring and bleep with a series of last minute excuses however we had a full class show up of eager and enthusiastic students willing to brave the cold.
During the course of the day we looked at all of the essential camera controls, we learnt how to blur backgrounds and deal with moving objects. We finished the day with looking at some key post production and editing techniques including using Adobe Lightroom.
As per normal we had a broad range of cameras come along including compacts, bridge and DSLRs. I was particularly pleased with how quickly the guys all picked up the techniques and were able to apply them – the results looked great.
Tomorrow we are running the second module in our beginners photography course series where we shall be spending most of the day out and about applying the techniques and developing confidence in using them. I completed a one day beginners course, then the two day sports course, both were really helpful and informative. The sports course gives you unbelievable access to how to work as a sports photographer, which is something I am striving for.
Nick is very much about getting the camera in your hands as soon as your start, so if your thinking about booking on I would fully recommend, as before I went on my beginners course I had not used a camera and all its functions properly before, within 5 minutes after the icebreaker the camera was under my control.
