Taking Great Portraits – Introduction course in Chelmsford, essex
We had a great day here at Unshaken Photography Training yesterday with a team of new portrait photographers as we took them from limited knowledge to taking some super images as you will see below.
The guys on the programme we pretty much all new to working with studio lighting so we started with the basics of talking about the basic lighting equipment to moving onto posing, lighting set-ups and then some key tips on post production (editing) primarily in Lightroom but also with some additional plug-ins (Imagenomic Portraiture). Most of the delegates were also looking to get into taking their skills professionally so for those guys we went into looking at some commercial fundamentals including pricing, products, suppliers and so on.
We had two wonderful new models come along during the day to ensure that the delegates were able to practice their new skills and start to build a professional portfolio. We were also joined on the day by Martin Higgs our new trainer who worked with the guys helping them to learn from his experience as a fashion and hair photographer.
Our approach to portrait photography is pretty simple – all of the images taken on the day actually only only used a single light at a time although we introduced reflectors where needed and allowed the delegates space to start to work out their own styles and methods of working.
A fun day was had by all in a great environment – if you are looking to develop your portrait photography skills why not pop along to one of our sessions, visit https://unshaken-photography.co.uk/courses/portrait-photography-courses/ for more information.
